Queen of pop for more than 30 years reveals the key to her success
Strive to create magic with what you doAlmost everyone heard about Madonna’s big fall on stage at the Brit Awards when she was nearly strangled as she was accidentally dragged down a set of stairs due to a wardrobe malfunction. But if you were watching that night, you would have also seen Madonna immediately get up and continue like a true professional with confidence and determination to perform at her absolute best. So where does this determination, talent and confidence come from? What does Madonna believe it takes to deal with mistakes and, in her own words, “create magic”?
“I rehearse, and I rehearse, and I rehearse so when I do the show it’s effortless and I create magic.” – Madonna
Practise increases popularityTo be truly awesome at what she does, Madonna revealed in an interview with Jonathan Ross that it all comes down to her incredible work ethic: practising her performances over and over again so shecan be at the top of her game. In the interview Madonna talked about her children and how talented they are, but jokes that they don’t yet have the same work ethic that she maintains. Do you fall into this same trap? You can check out the interview here… Madonna reveals a couple of the keys to her success at around 6:12 minutes and 21:30 minutes.
Empowering beliefs bring everything you desireIt turns out Madonna is not alone with this winning work ethic mindset…
“Where I excel is ridiculous, sickening, work ethic. You know, while the other guy’s sleeping, I’m working!” – Will Smith
“People don’t understand that when I grew up, I was never the most talented. I was never the biggest. I was never the fastest. I was certainly never the strongest. The only thing I had was my work ethic, and that’s been what’s gotten me this far.” – Tiger Woods
“I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.” – Victoria Beckham
Imagine the possibilities…True excellence, recognition and status come from persistent practise and relentlessly pushing forwards (even after falling over in front of the whole world on TV!). So what if you put yourself in Madonna’s shoes and adopted her winning mindset and work ethic for a day? What if you adopted her winning mindset and work ethic for a week, a month, or a year? What if you matched Madonna, and adopted her winning mindset and work ethic for your whole lifetime? What might you then achieve that once seemed impossible? We encourage you to raise the bar for yourself and commit to doing your very best everyday. Having the Madonna mindset means you’re willing to work harder than others to become the king or queen in your chosen field. How amazing would it be to be the next in line to her throne… Be unstoppable!
